LIVE ART experimentation, participation, activation
HMMM?
TAP XTRAVAGANZA MINI (2022) HMMM? is a mini Xtravaganza (a hybrid live art show that acts as a creative celebration of work from across the DMo creative repertoire), this time with the theme of 'Questioning'. Joined by the collaborative efforts of fellow artists, this Xtravaganza shares a screening of the movement art video Three Words Project; live movement from the piece's dancers; video art projection from the digital art series Questions; release of the standalone artzine Questionmark; and participatory art playground revelling with a magic balloon wall where attendees can hold a question and then 'pop' the answer out from the balloons. This mini Xtravaganza says 'let us creatively question', and encourages the exploring of a whole range of questions including 'have we lost our ability to question?'. Within the celebrations comes a creative way to remind us all of our ability and right to question, during a time when both these things feel on the brink of extinction. Created by Danielle 'DMo' Oke Movement artists: Monica Brunello, Sara Augieras Production assistance: Willson Hau When: Friday May 13, 2022 @ 19:30 (doors open) 20:00 (video screening + live movers) Venue: CC Bar&Lounge, 3 Chapel Market, Angel, London N1, UK |
Laugh-o-lution
TAP XP (2020) Laugh-o-lution is a TAP XP project that invites participants to laugh out loud through a creative exploration, contemplation and sharing of what makes us laugh. A 2-week residency period is being utilized by DMo and her collaborators to set up the art playground as three participatory activity stations that include: Station 1 featuring a Laughpit for riotous jumping and laughter, accompanied by a rock/techno/metal and laughter soundtrack; Station 2 featuring an installation made from hanging balloon and light strands, accompanied by a moving figure in a morphsuit, that encourages a wander through one’s Laughter Memoirs; and Station 3 featuring a local stand-up comedian and open mic opportunity. The project encourages laughter, as well as the contemplation of laughter in life - how it feels when it’s missing verses how it feels when it’s present; our ability to consciously use it to heal and bring feelings of happiness; awareness of what makes us laugh; and how it feels to make others laugh. As with every TAP XP event, it allows participants to creatively explore and immerse themselves as deeply as they choose to go, as well as create a deeper connection with their inner world, and in this case, hopefully experience a ‘laugh-o-lution’! Symbology: moving through
TAP XP (2018) Symbology: moving through is a TAP XP project presenting DMo's exploration of interconnection through specific symbology - elements of communication that allow people to go beyond what is known or seen - at the end of a 3-week residency period. The art playground is set up as a participatory installation of three activity stations. The first station features local dancer Andonis Kouvalakis, repeating a specific movement phrase that attendees can learn and perform in three different states of awareness. The second station features a video projection and sound installation of binaural beats that participants mimic with their own voices to feel diverse body vibrations. The third station has images of varying symbols, along with activity cards placed in the centre of the studio with corresponding exercise experiments that participants randomly pick and trial. The main objective of the presentation is to encourage participants to expand their awareness of subtler energetic exchanges happening in their self, their environment and universal connections via simple and playful means that are adaptable to a person’s personal vibe. In conjunction with the subject's exploration, DMo also presents a public open lab called "Connecting with Symbology".
