What do you think being creative means?
I think “being creative” means being true to yourself. I am a big believer that we are all creative, it’s just a matter of tapping into it, allowing it to flow through you.
How do you include creativity in your life?
Many aspects of life include creativity, if not all. Of course as a photographer, taking photographs is a big part of my life where I can express creativity. So is the way I dress, cook, dance, draw, form conversation, relationships.... and many more.
What are your thoughts on how your life has influenced your creative imagination, and how your creative imagination has influenced your life?
Life has been colourful and I feel my photographs reflect that. I guess what makes all of our creative expression different is our experiences in life. Our life experiences can affect our thoughts, creative imagination and in turn, our thoughts, creative imagination definitely affect our life experiences. The more I experience in life, the more I am realizing people are feeling me, my heart through my work.
What, if any, exercises do you do to get into a creative mode?
Getting inspired can come from many unexpected experiences, however, if I need to drop into a creative mode and I’m not quite there, I will meditate for a moment and reconnect with myself, then it naturally arises.
How important do you think creativity is in life?
Life is Creativity, or Creativity is Life, whether you are an artist or not, whether you realize it or not, you can not separate the two.

About
Amy Jean Harding knew she wanted to be a photojournalist and see the world through a camera lens from when she was 7 years old. Staying true to her dream she has spent the last 15 years shooting in a wide range of photographic fields. Photo documentary remains her passion, inspiring her creative style and commitment to exploring the depth of any of her subjects. She is always searching for moments to capture: in nature, and human nature.
“Through my wonderful experience of photojournalism, photo documentary, travel and life, I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing people and see some amazing examples of nature. Some of the most significant times in my life are the moments that I have recognized the extraordinary in the ordinary. I am grateful to be able to keep some reminisce of those moments through my photos. I feel my way through photography, having an eye for the inner light, an eye for life and an eye for detail. I love to explore both the darkness and the light, discovering such beauty in both.”
“The search for identity is a key part of my search, where we fit as human beings on our planet and who we are as individuals.” Amy Jean has a special interest in documenting the positive aspects of different cultures, with the intention of portraying what works in community. Her approach is down to earth, connecting with her subjects, which in turn gives an authentic feel to her work and a true sense of emotion in every photograph.
