What do you think being creative means?
Creativity can come through when I let go, of knowing, of preconceptions, of planning. Being creative is somehow allowing what's present in the moment to pop up, and to surprise.

How do you include creativity in your life?
Allowing those moments of openness, where the inner world, the external world, life inside and out, can be felt. So when I can, cultivating moments of still aliveness. I value the deep awareness and creativity that can emerge, in the space between, in co-creation, and by attending to what is in the field, with embodied awareness.

What are your thoughts on how your life has influenced your creative imagination, and how your creative imagination has influenced your life?
It's a journey! There's a saying attributed to Emerson that the journey is the destination, which feels right. And, I have found awareness and imagination facilitated through sensation, body awareness and movement. The journey is the sensation too.

What, if any, exercises do you do to get into a creative mode?
I dance.

How important do you think creativity is in life?
It's a reminder that there is abundance, so much to see, to witness, to experience, to learn, and to feel. We can bring this ourselves, and can be so grateful to experience it, and to be enlivened, through witnessing the creativity of others.

About
Willson is a teacher, coach and facilitator with a background in social presencing theatre (SPT), constellations practice and leadership development, bringing the power of movement and unspoken language to help build deeper connections within classes and businesses. Willson believes movement offers a connection to self, and to other, that invites an acknowledging of what is, and is curious about what is emerging. Through his work, he invites an integration of intuition, emotional intelligence, thinking mind, and body knowing. He offers dance as a way of learning from inside the body that is active and energetic - listening as body and following movement as body.
