What is TAPE+?
|
TAPE (The Art Playground Editions) is a creative community platform inspired by the importance and impact art and artists have on the world. We encourage artists and creatives to come together in exploration, creation and exhibition to celebrate and share work with audiences around the world that opens minds and hearts, provokes thought and entertains. Hence, TAPE is a gathering of talent from across creative platforms to connect, inspire, share ideas, collaborate, create training, development, production and distribution opportunities, and to act as a cheer squad to promote, advocate and support each other’s work.
We aim to bring together a worldwide community of artists and creatives made up of both novices looking to gain more experience, and esteemed professionals in their fields. These people include writers, actors, directors, dancers, poets, painters, producers, choreographers, singers, crew, sculptors, musicians, below the liners, fashion designers, photographers, prs, animators, composers, editors, and more. Aside from helping to create opportunities for creation, we also encourage, nurture and facilitate the sharing of such expression to a broader spectrum of the community via screenings, exhibitions and performances.

Why collaborate with TAPE+?

We have an international presence: TAPE partners with various organizations and platforms around the world, so with both members and partnering organizations based across the globe, we have a global reach. This is so we can support artists and creatives all over, as well as help support each other when moving out of our local scenes.
We are cross-platform: TAPE brings together people working across all creative mediums and platforms. When you work in a certain industry, you don’t always know many people outside of it, yet the creative arts always collude. We use the word collude specifically because its original Latin roots create the word from the prefix col-, meaning “together” and the verb ludere, “to play”. We particularly love thinking of collaboration as playing together. Film exhuberates with sound, music revels with moving image, art dances around with visuals, audio and beyond, and all elements find their way into dance movement, and so on. And this is just the creation stages. When it comes time to promote, everyone’s looking for innovative ways to share their work with the world, and this often brings all the platforms together again.
We will stage a wildly creative party: TAPExtravaganza will be TAPE's exhibition party that doubles as a celebration of TAPE, as well as an opportunity for selected members to present their artwork as part of the festivities. We will celebrate art playground style, with the space set up in diverse stations, featuring diverse art forms and activities. It’s set to be a creative extravaganza exhibiting paintings and other forms of visual art, live scene enactments, movement artist performances, live music, video, poetics, and more.
