Symbology: moving through
TAP HAPPENING (2018) GREECE
Symbology: moving through is a TAP happening presenting DMo's exploration of interconnection through specific symbology, elements of communication that allow people to go beyond what is known or seen, at the end of a 3-week residency period. The happening's art playground was set up as a participatory installation of three activity stations. The first station featured local dancer Andonis Kouvalakis, repeating a specific movement phrase that attendees could learn and perform in three different states of awareness. The second station featured a video projection and sound installation of binaural beats that participants mimicked with their own voices to feel diverse body vibrations. The third station had images of varying symbols, along with activity cards placed in the centre of the studio with corresponding exercise experiments that participants randomly picked and trialled. The main objective of the presentation was to encourage participants to expand their awareness of subtle energetic exchanges happening in their self, their environment and universal connections via simple and playful means that are adaptable to a person’s personal vibe.
