What do you think being creative means?
To me, life itself is a creative act unfolding in an empty space. Creativity lies at the heart of what it means to be truly alive. Human beings possess the remarkable ability to be aware of their own creative power. However, what we often lack is clear awareness and the willingness to take responsibility for what we create. When someone chooses to invest their time in creative endeavors, it becomes a sacred act—an expression of the divine through art. Being creative is about tapping into our deepest emotional states and unlocking the Organic Intelligence that resides within each of us.

How do you include creativity in your life?
I make a conscious choice to embrace joy every day. We all have the ability to shape our own realities, yet too often we unknowingly use our imagination against ourselves. I’ve struggled with depression and come from a family with a history of mental health challenges. Through my artistic exploration, I came to understand that my imagination belongs to me—it’s mine to guide and nurture. Through a combination of surreal psychomagic arts, meditation, Sadghuru’s teachings, and kickboxing, I’ve found tools that help me balance my emotions and stay grounded. Now I wear the brightest smile in town everyday — thanks to Sadghuru’s teachings, which have offered me profound guidance and clarity in my visions. #SaveSoil #LoveIsTheAnswer

What are your thoughts on how your life has influenced your creative imagination, and how your creative imagination has influenced your life?
Since beginning my path as a spiritual artist, only one obsessive idea has guided me: if we desire a peaceful world, that peace must begin within ourselves. Motivated by the spirit of inclusion, I’ve spent thousands of hours meditating over the past decade, confronting and healing the inner struggles that once dominated my mind. Every piece I create, regardless of the medium, is a reflection of this belief. My art is a mirror of my inner journey and a tool for transformation.

What, if any, exercises do you do to get into a creative mode?
Meditation is my gateway to creativity and Life.

How important do you think creativity is in life?
Life is inherently creative. The way we choose to express and shape our identity in the world is a conscious act of creation—though often driven by unconscious questions we haven’t yet faced. In today’s society, art is frequently seen as mere entertainment or decoration. But art is much more than that. It’s a sacred gift from nature—a way to heal the profound loneliness we sometimes feel when confronted with the mystery of existence, especially as children. Creativity offers connection, understanding, and meaning in the face of that mystery and once again Love is the answer, but the question opens the door to creativity to unfold.

About
Laura Colamonaco is a Designer, Scenic Artist and Theatre Maker originally from Italy, who has made the UK her home since 2008. In 2014, she began to delve into the deeper meanings of life, seeking purpose beyond the confines of a computer screen, which led her to pursue her passion for Artistic Research. She established The Fun Side of the Moon as a platform to investigate how creativity can enhance both individual and collective experiences.

Holding a BA in Directing & Design for Theatre, Laura's work draws inspiration from the enchanting qualities of 1920s Surrealism, the insightful teachings of Sadhguru, and the minimalistic research of Zen Arts. She actively supports the Save Soil movement and Conscious Planet, global initiatives spearheaded by Sadhguru aimed at elevating human consciousness and encouraging sustainable practices. She
believes it is our collective responsibility to nurture Organic Intelligence for the cultural shift needed to reconnect with Nature and inspire transformation through the Spirit of Inclusion.
